Project Overview

Who?

We are a group of high school seniors working alongside George Zahka, the assistant director of programming of the Brookline Teen Center. Before we head off to college, we hope to accomplish something meaningful that could benefit the community of Brookline!

What?

Our first major goal is to establish a food scrap drop-off bin at the front of the Teen Center.

Waste collected at the Teen Center will be sent weekly to a composting site by a company named "Save That Stuff."

We hope that this project can bring the community together, change the way we view environmental actions, and inspire other projects.

(Please check "Current Stage" Heading for more details about our progress)

Why?

Although there already are a few composting programs in Brookline , we are far behind compared to other towns such as Cambridge and Newton.

Not only will this program benefit the community, but composting is also a huge plus to the environment!
